About the Role
Spott is a YC-backed AI startup on a mission to transform the recruitment industry. We're building the first AI-native recruitment platform (ATS & CRM) to help recruiters close more placements and everyone find the right job. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will own critical systems, set technical direction, and ensure our product meets the highest standards of quality and scalability.
Responsibilities
Build and improve backend services with TypeScript and Node.js for our core recruitment platform.
Lead design discussions, set technical direction for major backend areas, and review code to maintain high quality as the team scales.
Work on product features and code improvements to support growing customer needs.
Collaborate in a fast-moving environment focused on learning and growth.
Requirements
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT field, plus at least 2 years of backend development experience.
Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable solutions, with the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture decisions beyond your own scope.
Experience building AI-driven applications (e.g., prompt engineering or fine-tuning is a plus).
